About Us

The Local News Alliance is a nonprofit network of independent news providers who support each other’s work in their individual communities by sharing content, staff, resources, and ideas. We recognize that collaboration rather than competition is key to providing adequate coverage in areas that would otherwise be news deserts, and that by strengthening each other’s businesses we strengthen our own and the news industry as a whole.

LNA was formed in 2023 by the leaders of the Harvey World Herald, Homewood-Flossmoor Chronicle, Lansing Journal, eNews Park Forest and the Southland Investigative Reporting Center.

The Harvey World Herald is your trusted news source for in-depth reporting on education, business, public safety, health, politics, and entertainment in the City of Harvey.

We are dedicated to getting our readers information on the issues that matter most. That’s why we don’t have a paywall, keeping our reporting 100% free and accessible to the community we serve.

The H-F Chronicle is the only newspaper dedicated to covering the Homewood-Flossmoor community. New stories are published daily online at HFChronicle.com, and a print edition comes out monthly, reaching more than 10,000 readers.

A great community deserves a great newspaper. The HF Chronicle was created in June 2014 as the Homewood Chronicle, but we soon realized Homewood and Flossmoor are so interconnected that it makes better sense to cover both villages. Our mission is to chronicle the life of our community — news by, for, and about the people of Homewood and Flossmoor, Illinois.

The Lansing Journal provides independent local news that keeps our community informed and connected.

Lansing is a diverse community of about 29,000 residents, and The Lansing Journal is intentional about sharing news that is important to all of LansingWe all benefit when Lansing has a newspaper.
